How to use

  1. Drop a PNG of at least 1024×1024 into the box, or click to choose a file.

  3. Click “Generate preview” to check how the icon looks at each size.
  4. Click “Download (ZIP)”. Drag AppIcon.appiconset into Assets.xcassets in Xcode, and copy the mipmap folders into app/src/main/res on Android.

Frequently asked questions

What is inside the zip?

Apple platforms go into AppIcon.appiconset with a Contents.json (filename, idiom, scale, size). Android goes into android/ with mipmap-mdpi (48px), hdpi (72px), xhdpi (96px), xxhdpi (144px), xxxhdpi (192px) ic_launcher.png and a 512px ic_launcher-playstore.png.

What image should I use?

A PNG of at least 1024×1024 pixels. Smaller images cannot be exported. Use a square image, because the picture is resized to fill each square icon. Transparency is kept if your PNG has an alpha channel.

Is anything different for macOS icons?

Yes. Mac icons get rounded corners automatically: the artwork is placed in the center 80% (10% padding on each side) with a corner radius of 22.37% of that area, on a transparent background.
